Hi guys. I've got several games going that I am changing between when I've got the time to game. Cyberpunk 2077, AC Valhalla and not to forget the wonderful Stray. In addition I've started playing an old favorite of mine: Far Cry 2, using the Vanilla + mod. It's a great mod for a game I still consider the best of all the games in the Far Cry franchise. Closely followed by the first half of FC 3, before Vaas gets offed. After that FC3 goes downhill as far as the story goes. I've also got FC 6 laying in wait, but it's going to be a while still before I get around to that one. The last installations of the series are more circus than storyline, and for someone who plays for the story it starts to get old. But it was on sale... 😜
Cyberpunk and AC Valhalla are 2 games I really enjoyed...yet somehow didn't finish! Gotta revisit and finish both some day...
Stray looks pretty cool! Such a unique concept.
I've also played through quite a lot of FC 6, I feel that they understood the formula and didn't take themselves very seriously in that one... in a good way! you can send a pet aligator to attack people. Pretty cool.
Interesting to hear that we have the same experience regarding Valhalla and 2077. I'm just ready to go for the last mission and attack Arasaka Tower. But somehow I can't make myself do it. I have played the whole game as a Nomad and edgerunner. I don't know how that build will stack up against Adam Smasher. But I guess I will have to find out. Stray came out just as I was ready to go for it and I got distracted. 😉 I'll probably go back and finish it after Stray. Maybe enjoy the DLC too while I do. I guess I am about 90 percent done with AC Valhalla, but there I just got fed up. I'm a completionist and there is just too much stuff to do if you want to complete every side story and level everything. So after I was fully leveled up my experience felt more like work than play. Maybe the days of us completionists are over. The games just get too big. I still remember driving one of my sons crazy by exploring every inch of the map of Fallout 3. 😉 I'm thinking of returning one day to finish it but right now it just feels old and more like a chore. Maybe I'll have a look at FC 6 instead. 😊 It's been installed on my PS5 for a few months already but I didn't want to play it until I finished Valhalla. If it's as tongue in cheek as you suggest it will be fun. I definitely will get myself that pet alligator. 😁
And yeah open world games these days tend to give you almost too much to do so the story line starts feeling a bit unimportant and I run out of "gas" towards the end of them.
