Just purchased Beat Scholar. I have the latest version. I'm on windows. I love the possibilities, but there are a few issues.
I use the midi out feature to trigger drums from another program and i have to change what notes are sent out from beat scholar...very cumbersome. Having to drag the note selection to find the notes i want to be mapped can be frustrating because i have to be very precise or I'll pass the note.
Maybe a right click menu or midi learn?
After i have mapped all midi out notes to my desired layout and save it, as soon as i init the sequencer it returns to the default layout...even though i also pressed the lock icon!
Now i have to repeat the process every time i want to work.
Please fix this...
I would love to right click to view what samples i want to assign instead of dragging everything.
Change icons on the midi pads.
Have more than 8 pads...etc.
Its a great product, i know its a work in progress with plenty of room to grow. I'm excited to see where it goes and how i will use it in upcoming projects.
i don't regret my purchase.
Thanks!
Hey! Than you so much for the great insight. :) 1. The option to right click or text entry notes will probably be added super soon, like the next few days. 2. Midi learn will also be added soon (maybe not THAT soon, but soon). 3. You've discovered a major bug - for some reason the mapping preset was saving with the sequencer preset instead of the kit. We'll fix that ASAP, possibly even later today (I'll keep you posted). Also, we have 16 pads, but I understand why you'd want to have even more, and switch categories... that can be improved for sure.
