Hi, this is going in a great direction, but using BeatScholar to sequence an external synth is proving a bit no-go on Logic Pro X. First, the Logic Pro X architecture is different to Ableton and second, the MIDI map does not seem to save and reload which is ebbing away at using this otherwise great tool! Rather than me writing a short log of attempts used so far, am hoping you could you point me to resources to explain the following use cases:
1. How can I setup BeatScholar to internally send MIDI output to a dedicated MIDI port and MIDI channel?
2. How can I export MIDI stems? (there seems to be no drag and drop from BeastScholar onto tracks)
Thanks!
Faster than light - thank you for quick response and apologies for my late response in return! Running Logic 10.7.2
I downloaded latest upgrading from first release and previously missing AU-MIDI FX Component now available and all problems solved, running great!
Crazy fun using BeatScholar to sequence minilogue XD with Sinevibes Groove drum synth preset loaded, which leads me to audacious feature query - have you any plans for a built in arpeggiator to save the truly lazy? Can of course use a second midi channel to sequence the bass synth component, which is granted an overly specialised use case, but all the same, if one could define a sequence of notes within each beat e.g. chromatic scale, standard tuning, 1/16th step measure etc, could lead to interesting percussive synthesis experiments.
Besides the point. Really liking whats going on here, all good and thanks again for helping out :)
Hey! We're happy to help you. :) Would you mind letting me know which version are you using? The latest version has an AU-MIDI FX Component as well as the regular one which can be used for what you're asking for (I think?) So you can use that either to control an instrument, or to send MIDI out. To export MIDI stems, shift drag from the pattern name on the right side into the track.
